Guess it 's OK But...
Program imported the PDF to ACAD R14 BUT -- entities that are definitely known to be arcs were not idetified as such -- no good if you want to import to learn about radii of circs and arcs fer sure. Original pdf was generated from a recent version of ACAD and very little other than that seems to be able to deal with it - IMHO that amounts to 'stupid customer' who thinks the latest and greatest is what he needs -- we all know that to adequately deal with decent drawing transfer between various platforms using the latest proggy which likely includes the latest unsupported revision piece of formatted file transfer generator is only gonna bite us in the butt. Probably may be a good proggy but it didn't do what I needed (would my needs be classified as obscure magic anyhow ?).
Along similar lines -- since someone might actually look and listen -- if one reads the DXF spec, one is led to believe that if someting isn't recognized, it's ignored -- here's the question -- if it's ignored, then why in hell does a file from a 'wrong' generation of DXF produce error messages of the form 'file not compatible with this version' -- and that's within the AutoDesk realm alone.
